As a well-known surgeon, Dr. Thomas has authored peer reviewed journal articles, texts, quoted in magazines and online articles, medical posters, blogs, and numerous television interviews. Dr. Thomas has trained foot and ankle residents who have gone onto practice throughout the United States and even as far away as Australia. Dr. Thomas is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina and has enjoyed living in Central Ohio since 2011. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New England where he was a college athlete, captain of the men’s varsity basketball team his senior season, and graduated cum laude. He then received his medical education from the Barry University in Miami, Florida, where he was a member of the Dean’s List. Dr. Thomas then completed a high-volume foot and ankle surgery residency training at Grant Medical Center with numerous Podiatrist and Orthopedist, even working with current and past OFAC surgeons. After residency graduation he took on the role of the assistant director for OhioHealth’s foot and ankle surgery residency program. Dr. Thomas has held leadership positions in the past such as the chair of surgery at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dr. Thomas was previously the foot and ankle appointee for surgery peer review committee for OhioHealth. Dr. Thomas is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, holding the prestigious double board certification in Foot as well as Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Thomas is involved with many philanthropic efforts, particularly those related to underserved medical populations and our nations veterans. Dr. Thomas resides in Central Ohio with his wife, who is an Internal Medicine Physician, and two children. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, coaching youth basketball, and outdoor activities.

Taylor Wingo, M.D., an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon, has joined Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Wingo specializes in minimally invasive surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions, including ankle arthritis, cartilage injuries, tendon disorders, forefoot conditions and sports-related injuries. She also has expertise in complex foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Wingo completed an orthopedic foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care in Miami. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at NYU Langone Health in New York and earned her medical degree from NYU Grossman School of Medicine through its accelerated three-year medical degree pathway. During medical school, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Student Award, which recognizes integrity, compassion, respect and service. An active clinical researcher, Dr. Wingo has authored peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and scientific presentations focused on orthopedic surgery and foot and ankle care. A significant portion of her research has examined minimally invasive surgical techniques and patient outcomes. Her research interests also include ankle arthroscopy, ankle arthritis, cartilage injuries, tendon disorders and outcomes following foot and ankle procedures. Dr. Wingo earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology with highest distinction from the University of Virginia, where she was a varsity tennis player and competed in the NCAA Division I tennis program. Her experience as a collegiate athlete gives her added insight into athletic performance, injury prevention and recovery. Dr. Canon Cornelius is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon. He specializes in a variety of procedures and techniques for the foot and ankle as well as other areas of the body to help reduce pain and maximize his patients’ function. Dr. Cornelius takes a conservative approach to care, and he works with each patient to find solutions that help them return to doing what they love most. Originally from Burkburnett, Texas, where he graduated valedictorian, Dr. Cornelius attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, graduating cum laude from the honors college. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree, qualifying for AOA distinction as a top performer in his class, and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. Dr. Cornelius went on to complete additional subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery through a fellowship at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Cornelius has been published in many facets of orthopaedic surgery, including foot and ankle, total joint replacement, and trauma. As an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Cornelius values conservative care and considers surgery to be a last option. However, when surgery is necessary, perfection and attention to detail are crucial, and he has the expertise to deliver the care needed. Dr. Christopher Miller was raised in New Haven, Connecticut. An avid athlete his whole life, he attended the University of Pennsylvania for undergraduate education where he was a varsity letterman. He graduated with honors and pursued his medical school education at Yale University School of Medicine where he graduated with his MD and a Masters in Health Science. He was active in research throughout his medical school and published on biomechanics and clinic outcomes of fusion procedures. After finishing his undergraduate medical education, he continued his Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital. During this time he found that his true clinical interest lay in the care of complex foot and ankle conditions. He then worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Harvard Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship. Since finishing, the fellowship has expanded to include surgical training at Beth Israel and he now teaches fellows along side the mentors who taught him. Following his fellowship training, he moved to Beth Israel and the New England Baptist Hospital where he is currently in practice. He is on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School and is active in clinical care, research and teaching. Dr. Miller has given lectures on advanced surgical techniques and often educates other surgeons to help advance their clinical care as well. He cares for all aspects of the foot and ankle and is actively involved in limb salvage and amputation prevention efforts for this patients. One of the most exciting parts of Dr. Miller’s practice is bringing new skills to perform complex procedures via minimally invasive techniques. This can improve patient outcomes, and decrease post-operative pain and scarring. The majority of his practice now revolves around minimally invasive surgery and he is a local leader in the field.

Dr. Ettore Vulcano is the Chief of Orthopedics at Mount Sinai Medical Center and an Adjunct Full Professor of Orthopedics at Florida International University. He is also Director of Foot & Ankle Surgery, Limb Lengthening and Deformity Correction at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Prior to joining Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Vulcano was the Chief of Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at Mount Sinai West and Associate Professor at the Leni & Peter W. May Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai New York. Dr. Vulcano has diverse and extensive training. He graduated summa cum laude from Campus Biomedico University Medical School, the leading-ranked medical school in Rome, Italy, and completed a rigorous orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Insubria in Varese, Italy, also graduating summa cum laude. He then completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction in Baltimore, MD, and an additional fellowship in limb lengthening, limb realignment, and complex reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, one of the only three centers for limb lengthening and reconstruction in the United States. Dr. Vulcano is an internationally recognized expert in both foot and ankle surgery, and limb lengthening and deformity correction. He pioneered modern minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery in the United States and has performed among the highest number of cases in North America. Dr. Vulcano employs arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques whenever possible to reduce risk of complications, shorten recovery time, and decrease postoperative pain. A recipient of national and international awards for excellence in clinical research, Dr. Vulcano has a strong research background in orthopedic surgery. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and books, and delivered presentations at national and international conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for several international scientific journals. Dr. Vulcano is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society, the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, the Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and the Italian Society of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Kelsey Millonig is a fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon and is elated to serve the people of her home state, Iowa. She is passionate about improving patient outcomes in foot and ankle surgery with innovative techniques, research, and leadership. Dr. Millonig offers expertise in minimally invasive surgery (bunions, hammertoes, flatfoot), limb deformity correction and lengthening(clubfoot, congenital defects, brachymetatarsia, or traumatic deformity), orthoplastic reconstruction (soft tissue injury), nerve injury, charcot neuroarthropathy, arthritis, total ankle replacement, and traumatic injuries. With her extensive athletic background she also enjoys treating athletes with sports injuries allowing them resume competitive activity.

Dr. Brian Burgess is a board-certified podiatric surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery. His treatment philosophy stresses conservative management and an evidence-based approach to surgical intervention when indicated. Prior to surgery, Dr. Burgess uses a variety of conservative techniques including injections, bracing, orthotics and physical therapy. With an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques, he frequently returns his patients to an active lifestyle in a quick and safe manner. Dr. Burgess is well-trained in all aspects of the foot and ankle and has a special interest in minimally invasive bunion correction, minimally invasive fracture repair, Achilles tendon disorders, acute and chronic ankle sprains, ankle arthroscopy, heel pain treatment, orthotic therapy, sports-related injuries and trauma/fractures of the foot and ankle. Dr. Burgess received his podiatry degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 2009 and his bachelor’s degree, with honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Burgess completed a three-year podiatric surgical residency in trauma and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Burgess is actively involved with medical education. He is the Fellowship Director of Hinsdale Orthopaedics (IBJI) Foot and Ankle Fellowship. He is actively involved within The College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons where he dedicates considerable time training medical students, residents and experienced surgeons. He frequently lectures nationwide and is an invited faculty at advanced ankle arthroscopy courses and annual scientific conferences.

I am a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Foot and Ankle Surgery. I completed my training in South East London and currently on an international specialist minimally invasive surgery and arthroscopy educational fellowship in Sydney. I have a strong research background with over 80 publications and 100 international and national presentations spanning research projects in trauma & orthopaedic surgery, anatomy, medical education and mobile health. Over the course of my career, I have secured grant awards of over £50,000 demonstrating my ability to secure funding for research projects. I am actively engaged in surgical education, regularly teaching and mentoring junior colleagues for which I was recognised by being awarded the Silver Suture National Trainee Trainer of the Year in 2021.

Mr Ray is double international fellowship trained in Sydney, Australia and Toronto, Canada. He won the prestigious BOFAS Gold fellowship award for his time in Sydney. He initially worked as Consultant foot and ankle surgeon at the world renowned St George’s Hospital major trauma centre. He has moved his NHS practice to Kings College Hospital Foundation trust do develop and modernise the elective foot and ankle service at the South sites. Mr Ray has some of the most advanced training in minimally invasive surgery amongst UK surgeons and endevours to deliver high quality, safe, modern treatments to his patients.
